Roxanne Henry

Roxanne Henry is the Managing Principal of Ross Barney Architects.  She is responsible for the management and financial condition of our firm.  Other areas of expertise are QA/QC of project documents and field observation of construction.   

In addition to these responsibilities, she has many years of project and development management experience for various types of real estate projects.  Her real estate experience includes project feasibility, site selection evaluation and due diligence, zoning and entitlement analysis, development budgeting, construction cost estimating and project management for a wide variety of projects from her experience with Focus Development, Jones Lang LaSalle and Turner Construction Company.

Eric Martin

Eric contributes an inherent and fundamental technical ability to the Ross Barney team. Savvy in both communication and problem solving, Eric is skilled at conceptualizing a clients needs and converting it  into true form. His approachability and attention to detail are treasured by all those involved in the design process. 

 

An invaluable member of the Ross Barney team, Eric has been responsible for the planning, design and production of building documents for various sizes and types of projects. His command and organization of complex projects accompanied by an innate optimism, make him an ideal collaborator and colleague.

Carol Ross Barney

Carol Ross Barney FAIA is founder and Design Principal of Ross Barney Architects. Responsible for the design excellence of all projects undertaken by the firm she is dedicated to improving the built environment.  Her work has an international reputation in design of institutional and public buildings and has been published in national and international journals, books and newspapers and web media.  Her building designs have received numerous honors including 4 Institute Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects and over 35 AIA Chicago Design Awards.  Her firm has received significant sustainable building awards including two AIA COTE Top Ten Green Project awards, and the Evergreen Award from EcoStructure magazine.

 

Ross Barney is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, one of the highest honors the Institute bestows upon its members. She is the recipient of the American Institute of Architects Thomas Jefferson Award for Public Architecture, recognizing excellence in architectural achievement.  Ross Barney Architects has been named among the Architect 50 by Architect magazine for the last three years. Her drawings have been widely exhibited and collected by the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Historical Society, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the National Building Museum.

 

Ross Barney is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Following graduation, she served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica planning national parks. She currently teaches an advanced Design Studio at IIT and serves on their College Board of Overseers.

 

The new CTA Cermak Station, South Campus Central Chiller Plant for The Ohio State University, the Illinois Accelerator Research Center at FermiLab, two new schools for Stillwater Oklahoma and the design of the Chicago Riverwalk are among the studio’s current commissions.

Laura Saviano

Laura is the Marketing Principal for Ross Barney Architects.   She serves on the Board of Directors of Design Evanston, a design advocacy group of professionals that publicly encourage quality design for the built environment. Laura is a tireless advocate for Public Art in her adopted City of Evanston, Illinois and is a founding director of the Not for Profit organization, Friends of the Arts, organized to raise awareness and funding for Public Art initiatives in Evanston.

 

She holds a 1988 Bachelor of Business degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  She received her Master of Arts degree in Photography from Columbia College Chicago in 1999.
