Festival Productions, the company that produces Jazz Fest and Bayou Country Super Fest, selected NANO to design and reinvent their offices when they moved locations. Originally located in an historic building in the New Orleans Central Business District for over 25 years, they were ready for a change and new identity including easy access for talent to visit, employees to work, and temporary workers to be interviewed.
After extensive programming, NANO created a space that was versatile, unique in fixtures and colors, with an emphasis on community spaces – in particular the kitchen bar area. Festival Productions wanted an all-glass conference room as well as front entry with warm tones of wood and rich colors to define their communal spaces. Offices bank the perimeter of the space with storefront glazing on all of the offices for natural light to permeate through to the employees in the central open office work spaces.
Human Resources and the talent office are set back from the reception are with a private entry for musicians and artists. The center of the space is the kitchen and bar area for all to congregate at during different times of the day. The furniture in this area is more residential, providing a more natural and soothing environment for the employees due to the times of their work and the stress that comes along with producing festivals and deadline-based projects.
Customized architectural features, combined with an open and closed office plan assisted in natural day lighting, setting the hierarchy of spaces, and integrating temporary employees. Minimally select finishes of bare concrete and glass kept costs low, while also giving the space a clean, modern feel.
NANO revitalized their space and created a place for this company to thrive for the next quarter century.
