The design of Weinstein’s was the recipient of an AIA Honor award. The project had two primary objectives – relocating the business to Magazine Street, a prominent shopping location in New Orleans, and stimulating an area that was in need of urban renewal. The store specializes in high end women’s clothing, and the client wanted the focus to be the product. Originally a two story structure with a side stair, the building was converted into a single story structure with a mezzanine level and the stair to this level became the focal point of the space. Using a monochromatic color scheme and high gloss wall finishes, NANO created a space that brought the clothes into the foreground.
