Eunpyeoung, conveniently located in the north-west of Seoul, forms the entrance to the city and is an important traffic route to of Seoul`s city centre. A new town has to be developed on 360 ha, that takes up the natural environment of the area and which integrates the existing small housing estates. The concept considers mostly the topographic situation, as the city is grouped around the prominent mountain with small, high-quality housing that makes special use of the valley and plateau locations. The block building, which is at present being realized, is the first trial of its kind in Korea and will be the model for further new cities to be developed.
