The Large Aperture Mirror Array (LAMA) telescope was commissioned by Columbia University & the State University of New York, Stony Brook.  We provided the schematic design (with technical support from M3 Engineering of Phoenix, Arizona) for the superstructure, and 3D renderings and model for the telescope system.  Located on Sacramento Peak, New Mexico, the program called for a building envelope with a large retractable roof, which would also function as a crane for the 9 meter diameter  telescope pods.  Each telescope pod contains liquid mercury, which is slowly turned to create a highly reflective surface from which gathered starlight emissions are sent to a high resolution spectrograph, housed centrally b etween the 48 mercury pods.
